Course Description
This three-day course is designed to teach the student Project Management Professional skills as offered by the Project Management InstituteTM. The course uses lecture, discussion, case study, and practice exam methods to establish a foundation of knowledge and skills to improve project management performance and prepare for the PMI exam. The instructor will convey study tips, techniques, and memorization strategies throughout the duration of the course.
Course Objectives
Upon Completion of the course you will be able to:
- Understand the Project Management Framework—as described in the current Project Management Book Of Knowledge (PMBOK)
- Know five of the Nine knowledge areas as defined by the Project Management Institute: integration, scope, time, cost, and quality
- Use the structure of the exam to answer questions correctly by breaking down questions and applying formulas
- Apply the 5 phases of project management (initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing) to improve any project
- Understand how the Project Management Institute approaches the 9 knowledge areas, the 5 process groups, framework and professional responsibility

Prerequisites
- This course is designed for professionals with previous experience in project management
- PMI restricts examination for the PMP individuals with over 4500 hours of experience in project management related areas during the previous 36 to 72 months
- The structure of the class presumes significant familiarity with project management concepts and terminology
